Hey everyone,
Just noticed that Puremagnetik is having a sale: $20 for Granular Suite. Listening now to sound examples on their page.
Anyone have any experience with some of the effects in the Granular Suite?

I love the idea of their plugins and they seem great, but unfortunately they all mysteriously completely overloaded my CPU and caused dropouts (even when they are the only plugin, my cpu does not struggle with anything even remotely comparable, etc.). So they were unusable for me. Hope you have better results.

Thanks for the reply. Appreciate it. I don't see a way to demo, though perhaps I missed it. Hmm. . .$20 is a good deal. I guess the question is, "Do I feel lucky?"

Yeah I also didn't find a way to demo, though there are a number of plugins that are free or very cheap that you could sample. The developer kindly reimbursed me when they were unable to resolve my issues. Don't mean to turn you off from them, I am not sure how common my results are!

Tempted, too. This stuff looks very interesting. i have to test-drive some of them that I already have lying around on my HD and see if they add anything to my arsenal. My god, so many fancy toys. The market for plugins is an overcrowded mess, really.

I have a lot of the Puremagnetik plugins, but not all of them. They are interesting and sometimes useful. I wouldn't pay $20 each for them however. To me, they are like little audio DSP ideas that sometimes have a use in my work. Also, I enjoy experiencing other people's creativity and these seem to me to be that too. And finally, I think Purmagnetik does good work so I like supporting them. But I only buy when I get a good deal, that makes sense for me. This last sale, I had all but one of the plugins so it didn't make sense. I keep my eyes open for their bundle sales though...

I've got a few Puremagnetik plugins, all bought on sale. In retrospect, I think I'd only recommend Bitfight83 and Clusters, and when they're on sale. (Although they do have some newer stuff I haven't really checked out yet).
Also they do weird things if they receive MIDI. In Bitwig I often have to put a channel filter in place so they don't boost the volume whenever there's a Note On in effect and then cut it when it ends. Bizarre behavior.

Huge Puremagnetik fan. I added that collection to my collection during the sale. No demos. It’s been kind of hinted at that these can be looked at as one trick pony fx. The tricks they do are pretty good though.
. I find I often use a few in series for added fun and approach them like a modular tool box.
You can’t midi learn any of the controls so in Studio One I need to use a midi loop back driver to control them from any type of software CC altering device (out of studio one, piped back in as external instrument). You can, however, draw the automation for any control right on the track Also the tape loop ones don’t save the audio buffer. The Dev said they could potentially work these into an update.
Re: the swarm effect. If you like ez clicks and glitches this gets you there fast.
