Confused about the UVI Falcon sync to Host feature

I want to use my daw playback button (Cubase) to trigger a drum sequence of say, Beatbox drums or Drum Designer in Falcon. The sync to host (S) button is lit but when I press start in my daw, nothing happens. Is that not what's supposed to happen? If not, what does the sync to host button do?

It syncs the BPM to host's BPM, IIRC.
Script would need to be specifically coded to respond to DAW transport start/stop messages.

might be possible, might not, to use Logical Editor in Cubase to turn a MIDI machine command like stop into a note-on and set an instrument to run a sequence from note-on, or like that. If it's not there in the design in the instrument, & this's unusual enough that I tend to doubt it, you're going to have to reach for this by other means.

Thanks for clarifying EvilDragon. At least now I can quit trying to get it to do something it can't do but it would sure be useful if UVI could do the specifically coding needed to respond to DAW start/stop messages. I'm surprised it isn't these days actually.EvilDragon wrote: Sat Jun 12, 2021 6:05 pm It syncs the BPM to host's BPM, IIRC.

Thanks jancivil. Not a big deal and I'm not willing to jump through hoops for that capability if it's not already there.Just seems like a no-brainer function to me but I suspect technical reasons are why such a forward thinking company like UVI didn't include that capability.jancivil wrote: Sat Jun 12, 2021 6:20 pm might be possible, might not, to use Logical Editor in Cubase to turn a MIDI machine command like stop into a note-on and set an instrument to run a sequence from note-on, or like that. Oh, UVIScript can reconize transport start/stop messages. They just didn't add those specific responses to Beatbox Anthology etc.

Just wondering, can you think of which product they did where I can use the daw to trigger start/stop off the top of your head? Doesn't seem to be drums at all from what I can tell.EvilDragon wrote: Sat Jun 12, 2021 7:29 pm Oh, UVIScript can reconize transport start/stop messages. Resurrecting an old thread - OMG - I was so frustrated by this as I was excited to use this tool in production and not having playback react to the transport just seemed like a silly design failure. However, I just learned that you can start play back by having a midi trigger note drive playback. (Guess I should RTFM sometimes?) This will totally work for me of course. Here's the response from UVI Support:
"Thanks for reaching out,
There is no possibility to link Drum Designer and your DAW's transport functions, but you can trigger the sequence in Drum Designer by using the note C3 or trigger selected parts of the sequence using the notes C4 to C5.
You can also use the Export Midi function in order to generate a MIDI file corresponding to your sequence in Drum Designer that you can then drag and drop to your DAW.
Hope this answers your question, please let me know if I can be of further assistance.

Glad you brought that up. I had totally forgotten that that is exactly what you have to do with Heavyocity's DM-307 with it's funky no midi drag and drop thing. I had totally forgotten about it because it was a deal breaker for me in terms of using it that way. I do use the export midi in DrumDesigner though. Thanks for sharing that.Zola40 wrote: Thu Feb 08, 2024 7:50 pm Resurrecting an old thread - OMG - I was so frustrated by this as I was excited to use this tool in production and not having playback react to the transport just seemed like a silly design failure. So seems its not possible, quite strange because sounds awesome. Better than the cloud version imho:
