Automatic fade in and fade outs

I'm trying to do the same as here in the video and do exactly the same on C 9.5 (skip to 2:53 if you don't want to see the begining). But no auto fade is activated and when I check edit tab it confirms nothing has happened. And no auto cross face work either. Why? What's wrong? :help:
