Negative Harmony Variation

Would it make sense to add a variation with modifies a phrase or a track in a way that the negative harmony is the result.

I believe reading a few resources in the web this is a bit different (at least a different twist) to the existing vertical mirroring variation.

There exists a negative harmony suggestion, for master track chords:



This changes the chord for all tracks of course. I am not sure if it makes sense to use 'normal' chords for some tracks and negative chords on other tracks. There has been a discussion about each track having an own master track some time ago.

A use-case for a track-based or phrase-based variation would be to temporarily modify a part in the musical piece keeping the chords in master track unmodified i.e. for a bridge.

Maybe this is what mirror vertical variation exactly does?

No, vertical mirroring is inverting the notes but not as you would expect for 'absolute' notes. If you convert the phrases to absolute notes, it will invert them as you expect.

Phrases may have their own chord: you can override the master track chord and scale for individual phrases.
At the moment I do not know how this could be achieved what you described, that is to override many chords at once, without changing the master track.
