We are happy to announce the release of Flaw.

FLAW is an effect plugin that celebrates imperfections.

It can be used to inject subtle instabilities and make the sound more alive,
to create strong alterations and fully reshape audio textures,
or to give a lo-fi vibe to a whole mix or a single instrument.

Flaw is available now for EUR 29, with a special introductory price of EUR 19 until July 31, 2021.

Sounds interesting! And great demo video!!!

There are so many lo-fi effects out there and honestly I was expecting something a little more unique from Tritik. The effects in this offering are covered in a wide variety of plugins from XLN to, Ghz, Aberrant, Baby Audio, Audiothing, you name it... The intro price is reasonable, but only if you don't already have something that cover this, and I seriously doubt that at this point in time. All the best for Tritik, and I will be on the look for more exciting offerings in the future.

Wow sounds awesome. Great little company / plugins. This has a lot more going for it than the Baby Audio lofi plugin. I will definitely check this. Cute video btw.

Picked this up and can confirm: it does sound awesome. Nice variety of presets, which are overwhelmingly enjoyable and usable. This might sound weird for a Lo-Fi plugin called flaw, but these algorithms and combine for very pretty sounds. I don't see this as an FSU/Richard Devine type of plugin, but rather just something to add a nostalgic sheen to your tracks. The individual algorithms are good too. This is capable of some nice reverbs and modulations if you just want to use it for those tasks.

Really nice job TriTik!

Sounds great like most Tritik products, but I'm slightly iffy about the general long-term support since the previous plugins didn't get any updates to speak of (I have Irid and KrushPro, and not a single update was released after the initial 1.0.0 release).

They only need updates if something isn't working. On the Windows side, I haven't had any issues. Don't know if these offer things like native M1 support or there are bugs I just haven't run into or noticed yet. But the lack of updates isn't a problem in and of itself.

If it works, why should they update it?! Unless you have a feature request, found a bug, or incompatibility with a new OS - which you didn't mention having a problem with.

Because I simply don't believe any software product, no matter how big or small the developer for that software is, manages to put out something that's rock-solid from the get-go. Especially in the field of music production, with the sizable permutations of operating systems, OS version, driver versions, DAWs and DAW versions etc. Quite simple, really.

I have a couple dozen lofi plugins but I grabbed flaw right away and I love it.

The design is brilliant, the sound is beautiful, and the price is a steal.
If every KVR member wrote one review a year we'd have 1340 reviews each day!

But Tritik do issue updates to fix isssues, by saying from "the get-go" you make it sound like they release stuff and never go back and fix issues arising.

I looked at tk-delay, i think their oldest product, lots of updates to fix issues until it got to the point it was stable. At that point it's a working product so I wouldn't expect any more updates (unless they wanted to update the GUI to match the current releases, eh Tritik? :)) Even with new OSs there comes a point where products get left behind, framework is out dated etc.

Alright, let me be a bit more specific then:

* If you take a look at the release notes for their current plugin line, you'll notice that most of the oldish plugins (incl. those that were initially released 2014/2015) DID indeed get quite a few updates over the years.
* Interestingly enough, most if not all of them stopped receiving updates around mid-2019 (May, to be even more precise). The code base could've reached a mature level, sure, but I find it curious why the regular updates seemed to cut off almost at the same time for all products that existed then.
* Afterwards, they released KrushPro in June 2019. It hasn't received a single update since its initial release and was one of the concrete examples in my original post.
* Then, Irid came in mid-2020. It's also on v1.0.0 and neither it nor any other plugins (particularly KrushPro) have received any updates in the meantime. This was the second example in my initial post.
* ... And finally, Flaw has now come out, mid-2021.

Of course this is pure speculation on my part, but what this insinuates to me is that they've replaced having some typical bugfixing/improvement cycles to solely focus on the next product in the line-up, maybe due to less development bandwidth or whatever. Since I firmly believe no launch product can be without bugs/issues, the examples above made me raise some concerns about the long-term support, or perhaps at the very least a switch in the approach. Whether or not I actually have any issues with the products (they've worked fine for me) is a different topic and irrelevant.

Hi BeeDog

Irid and KrushPro didn't get any update simply because not a single bug has been reported since their first release. If you catch a bug please report it here. Both will be updated this year with native Apple Silicon ARM support by the way.

@Tritik
Sorry not sent as report though, but posted here in february (Crush Pro thread): viewtopic.php?p=8037706#p8037706
