Hallucinogen (Simon Posford) type delay effect

How can one achieve these glorious delays without hardware?

While Timeless 3 can unmistakably achieve this (and much more), the sound of goa trance filters is really 1/8 dotted ping-pong with a bandpass/EQ in feedback loop so each repeat has less highs and lows and only mids remain with time. Although classic dub echo boxes like RE-201 were used by some goa artists, Simon himself, according to this, used an Alesis Quadraverb for the ping-pong delay effect on Hallucinogen records.

TLDR; you can use any delay with a filter in feedback loop, like Ableton's Echo or Delay devices in Live, or the Delay 3 in FL Studio, or if your DAW doesn't come with a suitable delay, there is HY-Delay 4 Free which can do all you might need.

I recently discovered that modulating a frequency shifter in the delay's feedback path creates a very popular psytrance effect. Bleass Delay was what I used but I'm sure other delays have frequency shifters in their feedback path.

he used also a Ensoniq DP4 , eventide maybe h3000 i don t remember but in live dunno, probably it s recorded as audio, he still use lot of eventide for fx and uad stuff

I'm sorry about the super late response but I have been having major real life problems, namely homelessness due to Covid. I had to sell the little gear that I had and work my ass off to barely stay above water... its really been rough!

I tried my best to get anywhere near the delay effect I was looking for to no avail.

If anyone can be so kind as to make a patch for me in Timeless 2/3 it would make my week! I tried the 1/8 dotted delay and it just doesn't sound like it at all.

You just need one LFO to drive the filter frequency and enough resonance.
