Hello,

I'm very new on here, but I've worked with DAWs for over a decade now. However, I've just been wondering a few things about audio-for post-video production-and what some of the communities opinions are with respect to that. If at all possible, I would really appreciate it if the focus could be more on PROS/CONS of doing this type of work--in terms of using either Ableton Live 9.5 or Adobe Audition 14.0--and in comparison with each other.

I've never really worked with Adobe Audition, so I'd really like to hear from y'all, just to see if there's a general consensus of any potential losses/benefits with potentially using Audition (over Live 9) for post-video audio production.

FYI: I'd just like to clarify what I mean by "post-video audio production". The projects I am currently undertaking are for an individual who is an social media influencer (on YouTube). His videos need minimal editing, and I am quite-literally free to do anything with them, as long as it's proactive. I'm not too concerned with the over all general aspects of the audio (leveling and mastering, primarily), but will be responsible for creating the audio "cinematics" (themes, music, intro, outro, sFX, etc.).

Hopefully that's enough information to get this thread rolling!

Thanks in advance.

Best,
Weztie

What video editing software do you use? If you are using Adobe Premiere you will be happier with Audition because it allows you to stay within the Adobe workflow. Ableton is good for quickly coming up with layered sounds with the help of the clip view, but it is not really designed to be used in video post-production.
