Just read that. He had cancer a while back. RIP, Charlie. Hope you're jamming with Brian.

and now it starts...the stones were my big influence, my being a guitar player was originally Kieth based, but quickly switched to Mick Taylor...sux, thank you CW

Tbh, dude’s been on borrowed time for a rocker. He lived an extraordinarily good life. Rip.

Been listening Stones since I was 14 years old (I'm an old fart now). Still can't wrap my head around this. Truly a sad, sad day. RIP Charlie

the irony is how the stones really seemed to dodge these bullets for so long...Brian Jones was murdered and Ian Stewart died in 85...but that core five stayed alive after Jones. IMO just judging on the rock and roll experience as it were, not the quality of music or the members for that matter...just the impact and longevity alone of the stones makes them hands down the greatest rock and roll band in the world...gawd knows what my life would have been without them...I was born in 59

Even if he had never done anything else, there would always be this;

inverted chinas and swishes instead of crashes...a jazz drumming fan playing american R&B...integral piece of stones sound....funny how when something resonates it sometimes transcends the different experiences...you would swear these boys grew up in Mississippi
Music had a one night stand with sound design.....And the condom broke

Yeah, Keef mentioned that in his autobio. It was my favourite anecdote.donkey tugger wrote: Tue Aug 24, 2021 11:20 pm Even if he had never done anything else, there would always be this;
