Scarlett 2i4

Post

Hi all,

I'm currently using 2i4, and using all of its inputs and outputs except for MIDI in/out at the back, but I'm not happy with it for numerous reasons.

I will get a studio desk when I move to a new house soon (the desk which has 4U or 8U rack spaces) and I want to get a new audio interface with it.

This is what I all need:

1x XLR Mic Input with Phantom Power
Pre-amp is quite important for me, it should sound good

1x Guitar Input

2 or 3 Headphone Outputs
With separate volume knobs. No need to be a hardware knob, it can be a setting in the interface's software

1 pair of TRS or XLR outputs for monitors
It's nothing unusual

1 pair of RCA outputs
The only reason I want RCA outputs is to have the ability to connect standard desktop audio speakers like Logitech Z407 with a subwoofer directly to the interface. Because this computer is not only for the studio but also for my gaming and everyday stuff. I don't want to connect these speakers to computer's soundcard directly because then I will not get any sound from them while in Studio One. As far as I know that's how it works? Because I can't select the sound output of DAW to be Windows Driver and Interface's Driver at the same time? I'm open any suggestions to make it work like this way because wanting RCA connections just for this limits the range of products immensely. I don't wanna need them but right now that's only solution I got for this.

Good drivers for Windows

Thunderbolt or USB?
I don't really know, my motherboard is ASUS ROG Maximus Code XI, I don't know if it has Thunderbolt or not but if I can plug it in easily, of course, I'd prefer Thunderbolt because it has low latency.

That's all I ask from the audio interface.

Just because I will have the desk with rack space in it, I want to get a rack-type interface but at the same time, I don't need 16inputs or outputs. I am really in between.

My budget is around 600 US dollars. I can push it a bit more if needed.

Thank you.
