...or a bit of a New Order ripoff..
This originally started out as my entry into the FL DX10 contest. Quite liked the little tune I made so developed it further, did a bit of crooning and replaced most of the sinthesiser with guitar, and beefed up the drums with AD2 etc. Bass and the thingy at the beginning are still DX10, but all the pads etc are guitar with effects/reversing/filtering etc.

As always still unsure as to the main vocal level - time will tell..

I like the track. The drums are a bit buried.

Reminiscences of New Order, maybe. Would give the drums a bit more level, too. Otherwise nice work.

Hehe, have just this very minute uploaded a version with the kick and snare up a bit! Cut through a lot better now. Was farting about so much with vocals and delays etc that never even noticed. Fresh ears always good and that....
Cheers both.

Glad I waited for the new version. A DT track always makes my day. Any critique of this from me is pointless because this track is simply you being you and you being you is great. You really raise the bar around here. Almost makes me want to stop posting my crap but then I realize we gotta have some crap posted so that we can appreciate the really great stuff.
Anyway, wow, what a haunting tune.

Great tune. All included. Vocal reminds me a little of Talk Talk's Mark Hollis. May he rest in peace. But it associates to other Brits as well that I cannot recall right now. Bravo.

To me, anyway, he sounds just like Pete Townsend when he does his solo stuff.TribeOfHǫfuð wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 9:46 am Great tune. All included. It sounds very professional, also retrospective and a bit nostalgic to me. Loved Talk Talk and other clean cut Britt Styles, uncontaminated by McDonalds-music and what not from abroad.

When I sing higher up it does a bit like Hollis, in tone if not quality. Nasal...and this is probably right at near the top of my range these days, without doing some kind of injury...TribeOfHǫfuð wrote: ↑Mon Sep 13, 2021 9:46 am Great tune. All included. Perhaps overdid it a bit (more delays than reverbs, but same difference)..but I do have a plan.
Going to try experimenting with ducking some of the stuff (guitar delays, backing vocals etc) so it's more immediate where it needs to be. A job for the morrow methinks now.
