I've incidentally discovered this eq and i was pretty curious to try it, even because right now it's on sale for 9$ only.
I've make some tests, and i've tryed on my last production, just to hear how does it sound, i've compared with one of my favorite eq, pink4. I was amazed to hear how this eq sound.
However some tweakings can be very drastic (it's called freak for a reason) so i wanted to try it with plugin doctor to see how it behave.

It's a pretty good EQ with a unique character. Much of Audio Assault's products are really good and great value.

I do like this one and recommend it to anyone trying to go "analog" on a budget.

The classic mode is a typical saturation algorithm that is not too CPU-expensive and sounds good. The Console I think is their modeling of the Panasonic Ramsa, from another preamp plugin (that seems to have been discontinued - and I could be wrong about this). The Console uses more CPU and it's a different flavor, but not necessarily better than Classic. So it's nice to have the options right there.

I wish the knobs had a larger range because on default I feel it's not enough gain. But that can be improved by pushing the scale to max before starting to work on the plugin, particularly if you are thinking that a track is going to need heavy treatment.

My main concern are the the toggles for high and low, they bring too much bump on the frequency, as you can see in the video toggling one of them make a bump of 10ish db, and i do not understand why this should be usefull, those kind of things need more understanding of the plugin before to be used properly, but i think after a while this plugin can be really used on many tracks without tax the cpu, and the wallet. As you wrote the different modes can be very interestng and helpful on different scenarios

Same here, tested it quickly back then but havent really reached for it anymore. I liked the idea behind it, they seem like a good dev, lets try it again! Will let you know

I must be blind this morning but I don't see a demo download. Their FAQ's mention demos of their plugins so I assume there is one.

"The demo versions don’t allow the saving of presets, preset recall and may output noise/have a time limit."

Yea it's only $9 but I have a million EQ's so just want to check if I like this one enough to bother. If you put it in your cart you also get the option to add their Aural reverb for $6.75 so may go for that as well but again would like to give it a quick demo.
