I decided to move this topic from Instruments since it may be more suited to this forum.
The few posts so far from the Instruments forum:

Instacomposer has been talked about in this thread (Link goes to last few pages of discussion):
viewtopic.php?f=6&t=517113&start=1455
Since it's intermingled with a host of other midi fx/tools, it might be easier to have one dedicated thread for it.
Links to where it can be purchased at intro pricing.:

I bought it based on that thread and PB's low price. Its immediacy is rewarding. I found going beyond the presets and adjusting the parameters is key to me getting suitable outcomes. As a jump-street kinda plugin to get things started I like it a lot.

Thanks for creating the thread. Maybe we can learn a few tricks. I still feel like I am changing parameters without really having a sense for what they are supposed to do. I don't usually see the changes implied by the help info- but that could be my interpretation, I guess. For example, I want to get some chord inversions or additional notes above or below the triad, but I have not found any way to get a change of any kind (aside from actually changing the chord). I decided to use one of the tracks in Pad mode and output it to the same channel my chords are going to, which is yielding something closer to what I want, but it strikes me as odd that I can tap the generate button and see it go from single mono lines to four note polyphony without me changing a dial!

Just to get this out there in case anyone comes looking: J's MIDI Tools is freeware and has a channel filter that works in at least FL Studio, for splitting the signal from InstaComposer to different instruments. This is an alternative to the solution suggested on Plugin Boutique's website, which I feel is an outlandish suggestion for the price.
One other nice alternative to their "solution" is Parawave Rapid. It has 8 layers, each of which is a powerful synth in its own right, and each can receive input from any channel. Ive found that having more than one instance of Rapid is less CPU-intensive than putting all 8 layers to use. For that matter, Rapid has a demo version featuring 2 layers. 5 instances of that would be enough to let anyone experience InstaPoser to its full potential.
I realize other VSTs can do this. Others are more expensive, far more complicated or not nearly as capable, for my money. Anyway, its one I own already and it's easy to use and has great sound and fabulous effects.
Just my ¥2.

I'm noob to music making, but gave it a try. Seems fun to get a quick melody or an idea going and for testing instruments for a mix.
I used it to get a quick melody going and then started to cut and transposing the midi notes to get a mix I like.

The presets have different number of keys in them. That affects the number of IC "beats".
The highest number is 32.
Pondering over how to make a preset with triple the number of keys.
Or if the "beat" number in the track regulates the number of keys. How do i add "beats"?
Probably not possible.
Probably shouldn't write this down.
Whatever.

Will midi filters work in Ableton live when all midi is condensed to channel 1 coming into the track? If the filter is put after IC it will not help and even if you could put one in front of your instrument on the following track it would be too late.
There appears to be no way to use ICs multiple tracks in Live.

There is a new version of InstaComposer that seems to have fixed the drag and drop bug.

Honestly at this point, Alan Walker could just hang it up.

My thoughts? If you're pressing a button to generate music, you're kind of missing the point.

So you would say John "Skippy" Lehmkuhl is missing the point since I dont know how many decadesjonljacobi wrote: Sat Oct 09, 2021 8:10 pm My thoughts? If you're pressing a button to generate music, you're kind of missing the point.

So far I have used Orb Composer and Orb Producer with great results.
Don't know yet if this one is better or worse than these, but for sure AI composing has a lot of potential.
Looking forward to some sexy videos. I'm too lazy to try it myself.

WA Production posted a video on routing Instacomposer in FLStudio (and other DAWS). I own FL but don't use it, primarily because the MIDI routing sucks (editorial - They keep adding great features but make you track your MIDI devices by a stupid number). SO, I didn't watch it, but it here it is if interested.
Too many DAWs and plug-ins

Thanks. I "spoke" with Roman of WA Production and he assured me that IC is definitely AI, not a database of midi files as John suggested in the latest stream from Pluginguru Saturday.
