Just want to record my nice Pianissimo vst.
It is playing very nice when I am just playing arround without recording.
Then I arm the grid for recording with ESC and it starts recording midi, but I don´t here a sound at all.
Hitting ESC again and it plays again sound without recording.

Ähhhhmmmmm.....
Any idea what I am making wrong?

Thanks all.

Depending on your DAW, you might have to enable live monitoring; in Tracktion/Waveform, for example, it's off by default.
Wait... loot _then_ burn? D'oh!

Make sure you selected the correct instrument in the upper right corner. Renoise sends MIDI only to the selected instrument (from the MIDI devices configured in the preference dialog). The other option is to select the desired instrument slot (the one with Pianissimo), then go to the MIDI tab in the main Renoise window and select your MIDI keyboard as input there. This will send all MIDI from that device to the configured instrument even when it is not selected.

Well, I did select all of this.
I can play the piano all the time. Just in the second I arm Renoise to record, without changing anything else, it stopps giving a sound, WHILE the midi is recordet.

do you have "monitor and record" enabled?

Did you enable "follow playhead"? That's the button right next to the metronome.

Does this happen with other plugins?
