If you thinkthat's cool check out the tutorial I wrote for ArtSong, an algorithmic/fractal auto music gen program, in this month's issue of Computer Music.

If it's CM... how did the article look (being I'm in the States I haven't seen the final version of it yet)?

You will also find FREE algorithmic apps done for the Atari platform, but can be run on PC or Mac using emulation. Check out my Atari site.( see sig) Some favs are Tunesmith by Jim Johnson as well as Hugh McDowells Fractal Music Composer ( Hugh was part of ELO for years..great app!)

You can also run a loopback device to control softsynths from steem ( Atari emulator) to your fav VSTi's.

Nice site sdv but a bit outdated:

Algorithmic Arts has MusicWonk as it's flagship application which claims (and I'm inclined to agree) takes on Symbolic Composer which is now Mac and PC.

Another great app is ABox by Andy J Turner http://www.andyware.com Not only is it algorithmic but is a VST host.

The three programs mentioned are somewhat daunting but incredibly productive.
