Need to check this out!
Always nice to be able to dial in some life :)

What happens under the hood of that life button?

It works like saturator but more than that! :hyper:

My enthousiasm has dropped a little.
1. The shape is a smiley EQ curve which has a lot of overlap with the pulteq eq trick. So if you do the latter already, this plugin won't complement in that area.
2. The oversampling in the VST2_64 version doesn't do a lot; there's still a considerable amount of foldback aliasing going on.
3. Of course when you dial in the shape and life it sounds better, but there's no gain compensation going on.

Useful for those who've never heard about the pulteq eq trick or never used a smiley eq curve. That alone can make tracks sound better. When used on the drum bus it can make room for vocals or synth sounds. For saturation purposes (life) i would use other plugins that have better oversampling implemented.

This appears to be a bug. I've reported it to AO. The two other AO plugins I checked didn't have that issue.

Hi all!

Version 1.1 is ready to download!

Added gain compensation for each stage. No more "loud is better" illusion...

Thanks.

Thanks for adding complete auto gain compensation! However, 1.1 is still producing strange aliasing even with oversampling enabled in Ableton 11, Catalinia OS with a 44k sample rate. I am hesitant to use it until the aliasing has been fixed.
