I usually fix those with izotope RX, just using the spectral attenuate function with the lasso tool, instant process

It's a tossup between waves de-esser and alloy2 de-esser. My vstplug william de-esser I use as a lowpass for vocals and tracks.lwj wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 8:12 pm Weiss De-esser is the most natural sounding I’ve heard. Kind of sucks it doesn’t allow you to pull the frequency all the way down though, de-essers somehow work great on bass as well.
Spiff would be an interesting option too, I reckon. But I’ve only played with the demo a couple of times, came away impressed though.
Every other de-esser I tried sucks to me and I always end up removing it and just using fabfilter pro-mb or the Weiss if I can get away with it (latency/cpu)
Nothing else I've tried was good enough. Sometimes though waves lisps, and sometimes alloy2 omits details. Overall though, to remove from drums, etc alloy2. Waves would be too destructive, and raspy.
