Curious what VSTS, Kontakt/Reaktor libaries, m4l devices etc you guys love for crafting unique sounds! Stuff like blinksonic for reaktor, output portal, anything! Share
Especially interested in effect units that can transform existing sounds into something entirely new!

MConvolutionEZ is free. Trash 2 is cheap. Kilohearts Convovler also is cheap. Unfiltered Audio SpecOps and Triad and Fault are cheap. Wormhole is expensive. Rift is a bit cheaper. Filterjam, Frostbite, Reels. And so on.
Doing nothing is only fun when you have something you are supposed to do.

You can be creative in any right place on Earth, and not only in the wealthiest cities. Bring the world feelings from everywhere, and not only feelings of capitalistic or jail environment.

Unfiltered Audio Silo
Unfiltered Audio Sandman Pro
Glitch Machines, pretty much all of them but Fracture XT is my favourite I think, simpler but more manageable/predictable.

Not to forget Unfiltered Audio SpecOps! A beast in that regard and if you look out for PA special vouchers you can get it for almost free…

I like the Eventide Harmonizers, Instant Flanger, and Instant Phaser from the Clockworks Bundle. You can get some cool effects by tweaking them in realtime.
I don’t really go for anything more extreme than those because if you get too far into sound design you lose sight of what matters: the music.

THIS MUSIC HAS BEEN MIXED TO BE PLAYED LOUD SO TURN IT UP

Main theme:
This is really a ground for granular synthesis. Very often you can gain a starting point by putting a cleverly chosen (e.g. organic) sample and then trying sweeps on "grain size". You're looking for the "dynamism" for this part. The "peeeooooowwww", "tssssiiiunnnggg" or whatever.
Transient part:
For the transient part (a gun sound is likely a combination of different sounds) maybe look at GlitchMachines plug-ins or similar that do amplitude modulation/ring modulation. Why this? You're looking for clarity and modulation for this part. The "bop" or whatever in the start of the gun sound.
Ambience and tying it together:
Trash 2 might become useful for adding ambiance to the layers. Noisey, phasey characteristics. This is for tying the sound together to a coherent sound.

If I may be so bold (and if you use SynthEdit-made stuff and VST3), you might give Spectral Destroyer a shot. It's towards the bottom of the page.
More support here for the Unfiltered Audio and Glitchmachines stuff as well, definitely lots of fun to be had with those.
You might also look into Plogue's Bidule, as it can be loaded as a plugin, and has a lot of fun sound-mangling toys.
