What are some of the ReFills that you think people must have in their collection?

I'm currently looking into getting the Drum ReFills by Props. :)

I would reckon you should check out the new Hollow Sun Refills from dBu , Hollow Sun Classic Beatbox has some seriously wicked drum sounds , don't take my word for it, check out the demo Refills yourself , you can download them from http://www.tunejet.com/ along with some really good reason tutorials which we all know come in handy .

Good luck , Reason Rocks ! :)

Thanks,Whoomph, and good job on your winning song. What he,and floyd, have won are copies of Hollow Sun Classic Instruments, all dBu Reason content for the next year, and official designation as demo song artists for dBu products for one year.Congratulations to them both.

To be clear about what's currently available from Dangerous Bear Underground,we are currently selling Hollow Sun Classic Instruments, which is a ReFill of the entire Hollow Sun library, collected in Reason format and on cd in any format for the first time.Price $30US.This is the official edition of the library, produced with the cooperation of Hollow Sun.There is an extensive selection of classic analog and digital synths, organs and electric pianos,Mellotron,Fairlight and other "lo-fi" early samplers, and vintage drum machines. All of the S5000 presets(up to August 2004) from the Hollow Sun website have been translated, tweaked and optimised for use in NNXT.Then there are banks of original dBu NNXT patches,ReDrum kits, rex loops and rns files for modulation and effects routings. All in all,it's the most convenient and value-added version of this popular library. If you're looking for a solid collection of synth, keyboard and beatbox sounds for Reason with a vintage edge, this is it.

To hear the sounds in action,go to

http://www.dangerousbear.com/audioexamples

Where you can hear among others Whoomph's winning contest entry, allhollow. He is currently working on the final version, which will be posted as soon as I get it.Also see www.finalfloyd/boss%20fight.mp3 to hear floyd's winning entry, which is another excellent example of what these sounds can do.

To find out for yourself, you can download a new FreeFill,Hollow Sun Classic FreeFill 3 from

http://www.dangerousbear.com/freeware

Other dBu FreeFills are available at www.tunejet.com

If you like what you hear, write to john@dangerousbear.com for ordering info.

Forthcoming in the next few weeks will be another commercial release,Hollow Sun Classic Beatbox, which is focused on just the drum machine sounds, and extensive ReDrum and rex material based on those samples. The Hollow Sun library will also be made available in a similarly value-added form in other sampler formats including VSampler and SF2.

Later this fall,we will be releasing Dangerous Drums,an all-new,all-original acoustic drum and percussion sample library, with live-performed loops. This will be a multi-format release, including Reason ReFill.

Returning to the FreeFill front, sometime this week I plan to make availble dBu ReSynth 2,a collection of Malstrom,Subtractor and NNXT patches. The NNXT sample content will be from the Factory set,Orkester and Electromechanical,so it will be accessable to all Reason 2.5 users.

Also this week,I plan to announce a program designed to make dBu a user participation experience as well as a soundware company.Stay tuned for that one.

Ok,now I'm getting into Squids megapost territory,so I'll sign off at this point.Zai,I would specifically say to you as a fellow Reason user, that there's a ton of cool stuff out there. The mp3s of the Props drum ReFill do sound good, but it's a little expensive for my tastes. In addition to my ReFills do look into titles from Sonic Reality, they're superb.Another route to take is trawling the web for free soundfonts, since NNXT loads sf2.Also,Doru Malia has some very cool stuff.Good hunting.

To comment on the Hollow Sun refill (just received mine)... I have practically everything out there (refill wise), and the dbU presets are the best I've heard! Truly some amazing sounds... Well done!... I wish they were available for the EXS24! I have the vintage instruments for EXS, but the dbU presets...awesome! The Hollow Sun is a MUST HAVE!
