It's used to offset the level of the incoming/external signal before it hits the side chain detection path. One of the great things about the FF plugins is that you can on hints that tell you what each parameter does. You may have turned it off, but it's under the Help menu on the plugin interface.

No problem, I keep them turned off too, but it's a nice feature to have!

Don't trust those with words of weakness, they are the most aggressive
