mp3 encoding error in fl studio

hey i am new here so not sure if this is the right topic area but any ways. i was playing with the fruity demo and when i go to make a mp3 it gives me a error msg saying cannot open mp3 stream . it makes wave fine and it was working a few days ago. so i scanned for spy ware and virus and checked my setings. and still no luck. i am running a amd xp 2400 with a audiophile 2496 soundcard and am just wondering if anyone can help me out thanks very much

Do you have the right encoders?
Or is it some other app that has stolen the drivers from FL?

I don´t use it so I don´t know...just guessing.
