Any new Fx good for guitars I might not have heard about yet? Been playing a lot more guitar than keyboards lately. I use Ik's Amplitube and love it. Also like running guitar (usually strat) through AdmiralQs' Polyanafx and Stunningphaser to get synthy sounds from it.

Don't have a Midi capable guitar yet so fx only please.

Well I'm not sure about "new", but if you're up for mangling your guitar into synthy sounds you can run it into some of the audio activated fx in NI's Reaktor. You can also take the WAV file of whatever guitar you played and then stick it into Izotope's Iris, which goes on sale for $9 regularly. My current favorite for mangling guitar (or anything really) is Bitwig Studio, so not exactly a cheap option, but the piles of note fx and operator options, plus the ability to pipe-out at any point in a device chain and treat that individually makes the sound mangling options relatively endless. The only issue I am having with Bitwig is knowing when to stop messing around with the plethora of options and just go with that last sound. In the past I occasionally come up with song parts that sound cool but don't fit the current track, so I save it in another file to work on later. But in Bitwig I wind up with piles of cool bits and pieces that damned near all need to be their own song.😜

I'm really liking Electrum from United Plugins. You have that area covered by Amplitube, but others may not have heard about Electrum. There's a demo, and now they have a lite version. I seriously prefer their approach of not licensing the names of particular models of vintage gear. I just want some good sounds and it's pretty straightforward to get them with Electrum. I just really hated the 'in game purchase' bait and switch thing of the big name guitar solutions. The only thing I'd change about Electrum is to allow multiple copies of an effect block.

2020-vintage, but BlueCat bundled their newish Re-guitar in the excellent Axiom suite. Re-guitar is a tool to swap around many types of pickups, acoustic guitar soundboxes, hollowbodies, and save the new creations.

Their newer Acoufiend software feedback controller-generator is also a great fiend.
I mean 'find' :hihi:

Audiority DrPhase, nice, simple, good sounding Phaser. Free. Probably not fitting if you want experimental, though.

You get better answers and a longer thread if you would post this in the KVR guitar forum…

Big fan of his playing and tone for decades, I reckon I'll pick that up when it hits a sale

I really like well done artist and manufacturer gear tie-ins. In that vein I've loved what AT5 has done for me in 2021 on tracks, with special nods to the Satriani pack, Dimebag pack, Jimi Hendrix & Brian May packs as ones that I've used a lot of gear from this year to record with (and I still use the Slash pack too). I am eager to get their new Mesa/Boogie 2 pack when I can, not just for the heavies (though the Triple Crown and MkV models are exciting!) - the California Tweed 6V6 amp is very attractive for me, love that sound in the real amp and from what I've heard so far they've done a great job getting it in the box.

From smaller developers, the Nembrini MRH159 is an EVH Brown Sound inspired amp modeler and it has a sound and feel that really is very rich and harmonic, worth checking out if you are a fan of that kind of tone for sure. He has a bunch of free pedal effects plugins that are useful as well. Kuassa makes some nice effects plugins for use with guitar at low prices, but not free, I especially like their wah plugin.

This month really "boogies". First IK Mesa Collection 2 and now from the man himself...

Amp modeling really skyrocketed to the moon compared to the ambulance noises we had to use as a supposed "guitar software". If one is old enough to remember..

Thanks everyone i'll check all those out! ( And didn't know there was a guitar forum!! Will use it next time! )

Where did you see/hear that news?

I was getting worried that turned into abandonware.
