Studio one randomly disappearing audio tracks

Hello everyone!
Sound of audio tracks may randomly drop out. For example, I render the bass part from the midi instrument to the audio, then I press play and the bass may disappear. I have to press the space bar twice. Then it returns to the mix. Well, after a couple of plays/stops, it may disappear again.
It happens randomly. Only a couple of instruments in the mix can start playing from time to time
I want to note that this problem is not only with the rendered audio. For example, vocal audio parts too.
Sometimes I can wait and the sound is restored after a few measures. And yesterday there was the case forced me to close the project and to load the backup version because in a certain section of the song the vocal simply did not play, as if there was a mute automation
Has anyone came across this, solved this problem?

No.
What bit depth & rate you're working with? Are you using an SSD? How much RAM you have? Have you saved the project and collected all the audio to its folders.
If anything, this sounds like Studio One can't keep up loading data to play.

I have SSD with my OS and S1 on it. I have 16GM RAM but I know that some instruments/audios use virtual RAM on SSD. Yes I periodically collect files into project folder

Thanks. That all looks normal, except that those seem to be pretty big buffers / block sizes. What is the reason for that? Are you using a lot of plugins that stress the CPU? Try reducing Dropout Protection to Medium or even Minimum - my experience with it has always been hit or miss, with project (mostly MIDI in my case) sounding different depending on that setting.
Also, I don't know what OS you're on, but perhaps try if playing via computer itself (i.e. without the audio interface) solves the problem?
I'm afraid you have to try different things "blindly" to find the cause of the problem, as it seems to be specific to your setup.

Yes! I have Core i5 6400 CPU (old one) with overlocking (up to 4mHz). The plugins do they job well with a big buffer size. When I play midi I switch to a less buffer size. But the problem still remains with any buffer size.antic604 wrote: Fri Dec 17, 2021 8:30 am Thanks. That all looks normal, except that those seem to be pretty big buffers / block sizes. Okay, I'll try to experement with dropout protection.
I use windows 11. I'll also try to play via integrated sound interface.
Thank you for the recomendations!
P.S. This problem is actually not new for me. I've experienced that for a long time (on the older S1 versions). But this day I decided to ask people on forums cause I couldn't stand it anymore.

Does that happen with a clean project, when you have many audio files but not much pluggins?Nofolobricity wrote: Fri Dec 17, 2021 1:06 pmP.S. This problem is actually not new for me. Do you have any other DAW to test if a project of similar size/complexity works fine and it's actually related to Studio One?
