Hi all,
(crossposting from our company forum as many people don't frequent it that often - see viewtopic.php?f=31&t=575148 for main thread)
We have worked - and anxiously waited - for this moment for more than two years. So we're super excited that it's finally available, on the day The Matrix Resurrections officially premieres:
This is a soundset for Hive 2.1 which (unlike The Dark Zebra) does not require a specially extended version of Hive.
Metaphorium for Hive 2 contains 220+ presets programmed in-house by u-he team members Howard, Viktor (TUC) and Urs himself. The soundset includes a wide variety of rhythms, chugging basses, melodic loops, atonal and tonal pads, dreamy soundscapes, dramatic and ambient effects. However, meticulous XY pad programming in Metaphorium makes many of the presets defy categorization: You can create radically different versions with ease, bending presets so they become suitable for any genre of music or film.
Speaking of which: We are very pleased with how well the sounds work in The Matrix Resurrections score! We are already looking forward to hearing how other film composers and music producers use Metaphorium.

I'm a big fan of the music and sound design in The Matrix franchise of films. I'm going to see the new one tonight on one of the largest IMAX theaters in my area. It's fitted with a powerful, crystal-clear sound system that is ideal for science fiction movies that tend to rely on synthesized sound effects and music that is intense and dynamic. I can't wait.
Releasing a themed soundset for Hive that includes patches used in the new Matrix movie is a brilliant marketing strategy. I thought the same thing when The Dark Zebra came out years ago. From reading the description, it sounds like some very talented programmers spent quite a bit of time and a lot of hard work to create such a polished product.
I spent about an hour going through these sounds just to get an idea of what's included, and Hive's great features were exploited in really interesting and creative ways. It certainly covers the kind of material one would expect in a cinematic-styled soundset. Thick, chugging basses and sequences are on hand with plenty of atmospheric pads and other ear candy to layer on top. This is really well-done. Much respect to the u-he team!!

Exciting release and I can imagine hard to sit on for 2 years!
I’ll definitely pick this up and I can’t wait to watch the movie. I was going to see it tonight but the internet is out (and no unlimited plan on the cell phones).
I’ll just have to convince the missus that it should be considered a Christmas movie

Can't say it hadn't crossed my mind that offering to do this in Hive instead of Zebra wasn't some kind of ploy to lure people into this consideration.
(might need more coffee to evaluate triple negations tho)
