At this point I can honestly say I don't require a computer at all to create, perform, sequence or arrange multi-instrument, multi-part music. All with pretty much an unlimited variety of sound sourcing and even audio-visual input/output.

As long as I can get new strings for my acoustic guitars, I’m set.
Also, I still have my Tascam Porta07 from thirty years ago. That plus my guitars and basses plus whatever is there should be enough to create music, like I did in the nineties (and boy, were the results shite, but that was only because of a lack of talent

So we're just losing internet? Not actually being stuck on a desert island, will still have power and replacement laptop etc if current one blows?
Easy, Reaper (no authorisation woes, handles old 32bit plugs easily) and a raid on some old plugin sites and I'd be happy. Most of the stuff I use daily has offline activation or license files anyway (valhalla, PA etc). Heck, laptop, headphones, microphone and a copy of CM would be enough for what I do.

So, hang on: is this another post asking about our desert island setups, or another post complaining about VST licensing schemes?

My desert island setup is my current setup... except I am selling a bunch of hardware and for the desert island setup it is already sold and I only have the keepers.
