hey guys i didnt used IK Multimedia long time, i had some bugs with them and their authorization really got on my nerves. now i wanted to update all my ikm plugins and sort out but i see you have to DL a new software, is it any good? thx, i dont want more bloatware

It works but not all software you own shows up. I don't know what is up with that but for me I've been able to get all the flagship applications and sound content downloaded/installed/updated. It might be the older software that is missing. There is an odd interaction between the custom shop and the Program Manager whereby you sometimes have to go to the custom shop application (be sure you've updated it to most recent version) and "restore all purchases" before some products will authorize. It is workable, far from elegant and a bit of a kludge but workable.

The Product Manager shows you what you have installed and what needs to be updated. It will download and install your IK software, and you can authorize and deauthorize your software as well. The deauthorization feature allows you to reclaim authorizations.

The downside is it doesn’t delete the installers after you run them, so you have to manually find them in the Product Manager folder in your Documents > IK Multimedia folder.

Also, you don’t actually need to use the Product Manager to download and install. You can download the latest installers from your User Area under “Past Releases.”

I would advise against deleting the sample libraries, if you need to download them after 6 month (iirc) you have to pay a fee

I always move them to a backup drive for precisely that reason!

Thanks for the info on this. I just free'd up 12gb by deleting some stuff. I don't need multiple previous versions of Amplitube, T-Racks etc. I'll keep the latest ones there though.

The folder for me was: C:\Users\Documents\IK Multimedia\IK Product Manager

It's a lot better than what they had before, it's kind of streamlined in comparison. I thought here's a good UI.
But the other thing which happened to me the first time I rant it was Amplitube 5, definitely authorized, ran as a demo here with the attendant blast of noise every couple seconds. That's a new nadir even for IK.

Same here, and it's come in handy this week as I had a nightmare migrating between hard drives and had to reinstall Windows, thankfully didn't lose any data

Has always worked for me without problem. Much improved over the old way IMO.

And yes, I also grab the downloaded installer afterward and save it to my installers backup drive/folder. I do that for all software companies' installers.

It's been quite fuss free for me actually, other than that it does not allow offline installation of products. The custom shop-interaction does work kind of weird for me though
