How come nobody has published a book using "modern" synths Serum, Sylenth1, Zebra 2, for examples?

I assume you want a book about synths. Except for the manuals there's little out there.
Books about synths in general:

Because writing good books is hard, publishing books is expensive, and reducing the target audience for a book by focussing on specific synths would reduce potential sales.Spring Goose wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 11:48 am How come nobody has published a book using "modern" synths Serum, Sylenth1, Zebra 2, for examples?
An idiot on Set Theory:

He may not consider 2002 'modern'.chk071 wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 12:01 pmThere is this, from Howards Scarr, for the Virus: http://www.infekted.org/virus/files/How ... Well, Sylenth1 and Zebra 2 are from 2007. I guess "modern" leaves room for speculation then.
That book, and probably most others can be applied to about any synth with a feature set similar anyway.

I recently installed the OneNote Chrome addon for that purpose. It can grab the articles on websites (and leave out the rest of the site), and automatically create a note from it. Super useful. Thanks to the person who recommended it here.AnX wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 12:16 pm Not a book, but you can print out the SOS sound design series. Great stuff and relevant to most synths....
P.S.: The addon is called "OneNote Clipper" from Microsoft.

Thanks for this, i'll give this a read. I wanted a book i can hold in my hand and read at night before i go to bed, but it looks like there's nothing "modern". I bought good books about mixing (Sound on Sound), general dance music (Rick Snoman), and now i wanted one about synthesis / sound design but it looks like nothing "modern" available.chk071 wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 12:01 pmThere is this, from Howards Scarr, for the Virus: http://www.infekted.org/virus/files/How ... I know its not what you were asking for, but generally, when it comes to the specifics of software, the most 'nimble' (and also cost-effective, for the creator) medium is video tutorials. Youtube can take effort to separate the wheat from the chaff, so and Im not very up to speed on the commercial tutorial sites, but ADSR, as an example, have videos on Sylenth, Serum and Zebra.

Ok thanks i'll have a look at ADSR.whyterabbyt wrote: Mon Jan 03, 2022 12:35 pm I know its not what you were asking for, but generally, when it comes to the specifics of software, the most 'nimble' (and also cost-effective, for the creator) medium is video tutorials. I do have Syntorial, but i found that very quickly into it it became quite difficult. I wanted some supplementary reading (but maybe supplementary videos will do it).
