im not sure how i feel about such things.
i mean, i can see why some would see it as making modular more useful.
but id argue, it's making it less "modular".
music made using modular synth methods, has a different feel to music made with a host midi editor.
taking that away, you may as well just use standard synths imo.
not an argument that one method is better or anything, just that the different methods produce different results, and i like both!
although, on the other hand, more users, more long term life...
so, as i say, not sure how i feel.

well, while i would say "not for me" like the first one, if people find them useful then i would say it's all good 
i prefer looped seqs 16 steps or less.
working in the confines of limited notes, i tend to work very different to writing in a piano roll.
and i do like the repetition with slight tonal changes, so people don't always notice it's changing but can tell it's different after a while
