I recently tried out Atlas and XO for drums, and they are both great each for their own reasons, but what plugins do you use to organize your sounds, not just the drum ones?
Waves recently put out COSMOS, which is nice, but I noticed XO's algorithm is so fast and deep nothing else comes close. Unfortunately, it doesn't detect non-drum sounds, so I'm looking for the next best thing.

I've recently began using ADSR Sample manager https://www.adsrsounds.com/product/soft ... e-manager/
It's free and you can organize sounds by tags as well as making your own tags.

I just got COSMOS, too. Of course, it is also free and stand alone / drag and drop to DAW. I was just going to get it but opted for the CR8 sampler also since it was so inexpensive, and included a button to use COSMOS sample finder from within a DAW.
I just got it so not installed yet. YT vids and other posts searches I did were that COSMOS does a thorough job with sample libraries, as well as finding and tagging types of samples, though. It seemed a no brainer for me as it checked a lot of the boxes I was looking for. Looking forward to trying it out soon.

Personally, only Atlas and XO make sense for me. You can set them up to include non-drum sounds too which lets you get real creative with them. I did try a couple of other popular plugins people recommend but I didn't like them much and stuck with Atlas and XO.

Thank you for your reply. Could you expand a bit and explain how to set them up so they include non-drum sounds too. That would be perfect!Biome_Digital wrote: Sat Feb 19, 2022 5:13 pm Personally, only Atlas and XO make sense for me. I'm really impressed with Cosmos. Previously I was using XO purely as a sample librarian but now I'm thinking about selling it. XO definitely has some really nice UX features (the similarity list, text search on sample path) and works really well with a very large number of samples. Cosmos scans take something like 100x longer and the galaxy view tends to struggle a bit with 100k+ samples whereas XO handles this without issues. But, it only really works with drum oneshots whereas Cosmos handles basically everything you can throw at it and does it really well. The tagging and alternate classification (saturation, brightness, etc.) schemes in Cosmos are also absolutely killer. It's awesome to be able to do stuff like search my entire sample library for drum and bass tempo top loops. XO has nothing that compares to any of that. Just a measure of "druminess" and a pretty useless pitch filter. XO is still very nice but for me Cosmos is on another level.
The life you have, the life you need, is not the same as the one in your dreams

XO - in search and filter. There is a slider "Druminess".samesung wrote: Sat Feb 19, 2022 5:28 pmThank you for your reply.
