SOME IMPORTANTE NOTES:
Since the many breaking changes, The Abuser mkII will install as a new plugin rather than updating your existing mkI version. In this way your old projects will not be affected.
You'll also need to download a new license file. Activation counters has been reset today, so you won't waste slots.

Changes since last mkI version:
- NEW: Updated framework
- NEW: Reworked GUI
- NEW: Persistent GUI settings (via Settings option)
- NEW: LF Cut parameter (before distortion)
- NEW: Bias parameter
- NEW: Input / Output / Mix controls
- NEW: Vector Toolbar
- NEW: Corner resizer
- NEW: More algorithms
- NEW: More presets
- NEW: Drag and Drop license file on registration window
- FIX: Improved Licenser and Online Activation
- CHANGE: Envelope Amount is now bipolar
- CHANGE: Feedback is now bipolar
- CHANGE: Fizz renamed as Hard/Soft Clip
- BREAKING CHANGE: Improved licenser requires a new activation

Enjoy!
Luca

Hi Luca, thanks, this looks great. More algorithms, more control ... always appreciated.

Just one thing I recognized: The GUI uses a lot of space. I will try it later and see how it feels. However, I prefer smaller GUIs that look a bit "cramped" to big ones covering half of my screen.

Just my opinion.

GUI is resizable... and is the same format as other plugins we have (look at LDC2 Compander, GrainSpace and others).

Cheers,
Luca

Completely devils advocate opinion/query but does anyone here think 'The abuser' has quite negative connotations nowadays? (be it sexual, mental or physical)? Totally don't want to stir the pot, but wondering if the name is as provocative as my mind makes it out to be. (for reference I love Audiority and have pretty much all, if not all, their plugins - just would hate a company to be sleighed for an unintentionally [potentially] troublesome plugin name - hey I'm possibly making a mountain out of a mole-hill!)

You are right: I installed it and gave it a five minute testdrive. The GUI feels good. It was only my first impression there is a lot of "blank space". Will try the new algorithms later on, and I guess I will not be disappointed.

Seriously? After 8 years from its release I should change the name of a product because someone somewhere could be offended? I'm sorry guys, but this is enough. I don't usually talk about these topics, but this is getting really crazy.

That's just you, get some therapy. Didn't even cross my mind, it's abusing audio. Get a life ffs.

I haven't seen the original, looks good. Like Audiority so will probably buy, although I'm worried that Audiority looks a bit like Authority and feel a bit threatened.

Remember Black Rooster Audio had to change their 'Black Face' plugins to 'Black Ash' for exactly the same reasons - the connotations of words change over years. My question above really wasn't meant to have been provocative (hell I even mentioned so three times in the message) but the acerbic reaction from you and Mr Arkadin certainly shows that such things can be contentious.

We don't need more woke plugins

My reaction is due the fact that after busting myself 10h per day with this job, releasing free updates for products made 8 years ago, what I get is not even a "thank you".

Speaking about the name, you cannot compare "Black Face" to "The Abuser". The term "abuse" is referred to misuse, punishment and not only to maltreatment of an individual.

What's next? We'll tell Electro Harmonics that their Electric Mistress needs a name change?

Are the hundreds and hundreds of dollars I've spent on your plugins over the years (looking at the 'all' bundle price I'd say over $1000) not thank you enough ?!

I was expecting your reaction as a company to be more on the lines of: 'sorry you feel that way ... we don't think that such a word has the negative imagery that you had of the product but thanks for bringing it to our attention' rather than a 'f**k you :x :x :x :x :x '

True that. Sorry I have overreacted. It's just that I don't think that the name of this plugin is such bad that needs to be changed.

Aye, that was more on the level that I was expecting a response to be :)
