Anyone know what's happening with iZotope?

It seems like I'm being contacted by Native Instruments once a month with deep discounts on iZotope plugins at the moment. But there's a bug in Ozone that I'm hoping will be fixed before I spend money on an upgrade, so I went to their support site to ask about this, but they now seem to have removed any way to contact them and get support (https://support.izotope.com/hc/en-us/requests/new), with all links just returning to the knowledge base. It doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.

In my corner of the web, that link goes to the email contact form. I have used that form successfully in the past

Fascinating. It looks like the contact form is loaded by Javascript and on some browsers it takes a while to appear, and on others it never appears at all. Thanks for letting me know it's not a universal thing!

Keep in mind they are (over)due for a new version - you might want to wait before upgrading anyway. They are having mega-sales often lately to get people onboard before enticing them to upgrade.

Are you using a content blocker with your browser? I am using Vivaldi and the form wouldn't appear until I disabled content blocking for the website.Kylotan wrote: Sat Mar 12, 2022 6:29 pm Fascinating. Or buy great products in great deals. Either way.

As long as RX doesn't go sub-only. I gave up on the rest of their line. It used to be something special. Now there is so much competition, and I cannot justify the price of Ozone/Neutron.

Heres' the post I will regret the second I press SUBMIT. Most of KVR is full of this stuff - X is useless, Y is God. It's idiotic. Anyone person with a modicum of musical and production talent could use only iZotope tools and make something brilliant with it. Equally true with Fab Filter, Waves, UAD etc blah blah.
We like a company and their business practices, so we feel warm towards their shiny products. We feel ripped off or irritated by another company - I'm looking at you iZotope or Waves - we decide their manky products are worthless. Maybe we just like the look of them - if UAD's front panels were all generic their sales would drop by 90% overnight, but it would make no difference to the sound.
And - to be fair - sometimes there are really solid reasons to like or not like a company as a whole, customer service not the least of them. Or maybe the installers are terrible. I've wanted to burn Waves Central with fire many times, but it has no bearing on whether their plugins any good. Sometimes they are best in class, sometimes not so much. Usually they're absolutely fine. (Incidentally - I think recently Waves Central finally got ok).
It's all a cheap psychological trick we play on ourselves. Then group-think escalates this on forums like KVR with endless X vs Y, reducing subtleties and nuance to binary choices to which there is a Right and a Wrong answer. What pushes your buttons? What deals are there? After that, it's down to your own originality, talent and drive.
In the interests of balance, I recently found iZotope support friendly and quick, but to this point they did nothing whatsoever to actually address my specific issues. I have an issue with one aspect of one of their modules in RX9. I recently found another product that does that job much better - Waves Clarity Vx Pro. It won't for a millisecond stop me using other RX modules and other iZotope products, which daily perform miracles for me. The idea I should "walk away" from using good stuff I have bought and paid for is nuts. Everything is case by case.
Final point - many of us have too many plugins anyway, and these discussions largely become displacement activity because we're not making use of what we have.

Actually I found these sales common practice when they have something new on the way soon. Well, at least thats the pattern I've observed over the the last few years.
Not sure why they do it. My guess is its a marketing strategy. Remind everyone they are still there, try to get newcomers on the "mail list", get some more funds to help see the project through. All this just guess work however.
I wouldn't lose faith in them just yet. I'm sure they will have something new out soon enough. NI wouldn't have partnered with a sinking ship.
