this is a strange error i got the first time:

it doesnt say which library. i upgraded my pc about 1 month ago and have the same crap installed as before so now im stuck and dunno what library i used. anyone got any ideas?

It looks like it's not detecting all of them.

EDIT: Or at least multiple libraries.

i checked my Native Access, everything is installed. no errors. this gets on my nerves.... shouldnt it normally tell which sample/library it was? how bad is this programmed.
some 3rd party libraries which you dont have to add in native access i renamed in the past, to have a better structure, if this is the issue this is more than idiotic.

e.g.
i had a folder
IMPACT SOUNDWORKS
and the libraries were named like this
Impact Soundworks - Celestia
Impact Soundworks - Furia Staccato Strings

and so on, so i deleted "Impact Soundworks - " info as the main folder is Impact Soundworks.
if this is the issue this is again just plain idiotic. instead it shows what is missing and you can relocate.

i didnt delete, i just renamed, i mean 10 years later and sorting out your library shouldnt affect a vst to tell you whats missing. sampler tell you the name/wav files which are missing and need to be relocated. i had in the past only 1 SAMPLE folder, then i sorted more and more to genres etc. i dunno anyone who keeps the folders 10 years the same

, and renaming shouldnt be a problem for such a high class vst like kontakt, NI gets on my nerves more and more...

If you rename things between uses of Kontakt, are you expecting it read your mind while doing or is psychic? If you move stuff, Kontakt can't find it because it isn't there.
It's not the coding of Kontakt that's idiotic.

strange other vsts show which samples/infos are missing. i find it still idiotic.
can you recall what you used maybe some years ago and maybe found a typo in a library and correct it and then get surprised?

Yep, I'm with you, its annoying as hell. I'm assuming you updated to kontakt 6? I know you're on pc, but on the mac, apple (supposedly) broke the function where K5 projects open using K6 so I have a couple of hundred projects which give me the same useless message.

I messaged NI about it but they blame apple. Personally, I think the blame rests with NI as kontakt should just open the latest kontakt. If K6 can run old libraries, just fkn replace K5 with it.

i think someone talked about this earlier but most recent (like Yangqin) kontakt instruments only work with kontakt 6 from what i understand, so that could be the reason if you're using kontakt 5

Maybe downloading Kontakt 6 player and check if the same errors happen there too, it can help troubleshoot... it could be an error from those most recent instruments/libraries

If so, someone that knows NI formats and such can help....

the goalpost shifted mightily here, isn't it.

Here's something actually annoying Kontakt 6 did here: at 6.6.1 it not only didn't find the samples in two or three instances in a project (this of course is my fault because the new folder (same directories) names I typed, while copying the files from a backup were not the names), it was looking for the wrong instrument's samples in instances that were not borked by anything. The correct instrument was there and whole, but Kontakt (in VE Pro 7) was looking for the mistaken folder name instrument. I had to roll back to 6.4.2. But as this one thing was in every project for over a year, I really screwed myself over with that typo, which took me a while to even catch I'm so blind. I coulda been pissed off that Kontakt doesn't know where shit is as well. If I was smart I'll have looked harder for my mistake, corrected it.
Pilot error as per usual. Except the bug, which I did see someone else have but nothing at the NI Community.

Anything created in a later version of Kontakt than you have is going to fail. I don't mean merely K6 libs for K5, I mean saved in 6.6.1 rolling back to 6.4.2 means finding another source for the nkis per se. Be careful with a library update.

guys im confused now, hope you can help me

i have kontakt 4 and kontakt 5, i dont have kontakt 6.

all my libraries are installed and authorized (in native access). the project which shows this is about 1-2 years old. i never delete libraries (i only renamed/moved them but then you need to relocate or reinstall). so all is well, but still i get this error.... the project is with kontakt 5, 7 instances are loaded correctly, only 2 instances show this message. i just dont know what libraries it were and neither does kontakt 5 give me any hint, this is pure crap! as i have all libraries installed i own.

Kontakt 5 - Library not found error - Yeah but what library?
