I saw this on a post on facebook , and it got me thinking.

I doubt it will happen, but all the major issues of the last few years in terms of things "breaking" were because of what Apple did.

Why not drop Apple support and concentrate on Doze only by Steinberg ?

After all, they did it with Logic.

Thoughts ?
Don't trust those with words of weakness, they are the most aggressive

Will never happen. Mac users are at least 50% of the market.

This years's release (Cubase 12) barely show anything new. I think they took a lot of time and resources porting Cubase to M1. Windows users, one more time, are sharing (and paying for) a burden which is not theirs.

Perhaps in your wet dreams!!

There are still too many...yes... but never ever 50%!

And still Mac versions of all programms should be at least 50% more expensive that companies are able to hire devs who mainly are there to fix all the compatibility issues which occur after nearly every update apple does...
It´s simply ridiculous to expect from especially small companies to maintain a version for an OS from a company who seem to have big fun on breaking everything with the smallest change they make for the same price as maintaining a version for another OS which has changed perhaps 1 time in 20 years...

Mac versions require at least 10 times the work load so please if you think it would be a good idea to stay on such a shit system then go and pay the price!

Exactly. ;)

Well, I don't know about the 50%, but, I think they have a substantial part of the market. Would be nuts not to serve it.

I'd rather see Microsoft buy Mac so that people would only have to develop for one OS.

A lot of Mac users among pro's tho. And not many pro's on KVR.

Again, speculation

And companies will sell to anyone, so irrelevant

Post

True. Especially these days, I think there are a lot of sales to hobbyists.

Anyway, would be interesting to see figures of OS market share on total sales for DAW or plugin companies. At least now, it seems that it's still worthwhile to cater to Apple customers.
