VREV-140 VINTAGE PLATE REVERB RELEASE

Image

MASSIVE LEGEND

The VREV-140 is a vibrant reverb inspired by the holy grail of plates. Developed in the 1950s, this technological premiere with just 170 kg / 375 lb of weight finally offered a 'portable' reverb solution which was more flexible than the echo chambers used at the time. The Fuse incarnation of this studio icon delivers the rich and complex response the 140 is known and loved for.

VOX & DRUMS

With its smooth timbre and plate-specific density, the VREV-140 performs exceptionally well on vocals, guitars and drums. With more extreme settings applied, the synthetic aspect of the plate imposes truly inspiring reverb effects on any source. Also, the unique sound of the 140 is just perfect for adding spatial width and air to all of your signals.

EXTRAS GALORE

The VREV-140 provides the ultimate plate experience by offering a fully gain compensated preamp section and extending the decay from originally 5 to a whopping 32 seconds. An additional 3-band EQ is the key for intuitively embedding the processed signals into any mix. The width and balance parameters and a pre-delay of up to 500 ms allow for more control and special effects.

EPIC TAILS

You want to enchant your mixes by introducing unique plate-style space and dimension, apply lush reverberation tails to instruments or vocals, create otherworldly sounds or just want to sound a little bit more like the Beatles or Pink Floyd? The VREV-140 is the answer. And even if you end up plate galore, the mix control will help to dose heavy goodness within reason.

ON SALE FOR ONLY $29 ($59 REGULAR) UNTIL APRIL 29TH 2022!

Testing this now, I have Soundtoys Little Plate but so far I'm prefering the sound of your reverb.

One request though, and this would apply to many other maker's plugins, I tend to use reverbs as inserts rather than sends - is there any chance that you can have it so you can lock the mix knob so that when I flip through presets I'm not having to constantly dial it back from 100%?

Most welcome..
I was part of the testing team.
Prior to this I had four Plate 140 reverbs including the one you mentioned (the others were UAD-140 and Arturia's Plate). At the start this was my least favourite, by the end of all the suggestions of various beta testers and Ray's own input of course, after he incorporated and addressed all the issues, bit became my first call Plate 140 Reverb.

Aargh, I just bought Mulab 9 and this comes along. Really trying not to spend more but man this sounds so nice n' natural. At least the sale lasts for a while. I have no plate verb and this would fill that hole. The agony!

Sounds really nice. Just a bit hot on my CPU.

getting some random chirpy zip noise bursts on M1 macbook pro, using internal soundcard.
24/48 512 samples
seems to be when taking the drive over +10dB on HQ mode. Adjusting the drive knob up and down.
Nasty artifacts jumping out, be warned, brick wall limiter essential.
Various types of sudden sounds at different volumes.

Hi sqigls,

Interesting...thanks for the report. I wonder how this could slip through the beta cycle.

Then again we don't have a lot of M1 testers right now. We'll, of course, try to address this ASAP.

Given that this is related to the HQ mode, please leave the HQ switch in the off position as a workaround as long as you're tweaking the drive.

Is your host running in native or Rosetta2 mode? Does it make a difference?

Best,
Ray

I can't seem to make it happen in native version of Cubase.
Rosetta 2 only it seems.
Feel free to add me to the beta team ;)
