Maschine - a bit slow lately?

Previously I've only watched the development of Maschine from afar, and I've always felt the development of Maschine is quite slow. Now when I own a Mk3, I'm actually a bit astonished on how slow the development actually is.

Is it slower than usual at the moment, or is this how it's always been?

I feel like NI has lost their way so it's anybody's guess really. I can't remember the last thing that they did that I thought was exciting enough to comment about.

Post

However, NI spawns "expansions" for Maschine quickly. Why develop competetive products when you can just flood the market and milk the suckers? 8)

Honestly I'd like to try Maschine environment eventually, but their product is behind the competition.

Hehe... yeah, sometimes it sure feels like that. But I do like their expansions though. Good quality and lots of content.

There is a big update of maschine in the works with autosampling. There is a preview on loopops YouTube channel. It looks interesting....

Yeah, the update got delayed due to a bug they found. Hopefully, it will drop tomorrow, i believe their current sale was supposed to compliment this update, which is now 2-ish weeks late. :(
I started on Logic 5 with a PowerBook G4 550Mhz. I now have a MacBook Air M1 and it's ~165x faster! So, why is my music not proportionally better? :(

This is standard. I've been with Maschine since version 1.1 and it was fairly fast until version 2. I think version 2 came out 8 years ago.

Its usually 1 or 2 features added and 20-40 bug fixes a year. The rate they are going it will take them 100 years to implement all the feature requests.

Curious what you guys would want to see added/updated.
I already love it the way it is.

I'm not looking for anything particular.

But there are always way one can refine a flagship product. Make the sampler deeper with better layering, new effects, more DAW-like ways to record and comp, shortcuts in creating MIDI notes/patterns, randomness/chance/Elektronstyle, etc.

I meant the hardware on pair with current Akai MPC product line. Standalone box with all the connectivity in the world ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That was actually one of the most brilliant things I've ever seen in hardware development. To let the user connect a class-compliant usb audio interface and use all the ins and out as a part of the hardware.

That's was an effing brilliant move.

No that's pretty much NI. They are slow as hell when it comes to updates and if they feel like dropping something your bought they don't care they will drop you. I love Maschine, I really do. I've been a Maschine user since day one. Bought a MK1 day one, bought a Maschine Studio day one. At some point I had to vote with my wallet and NI isn't getting one red cent from me until they get their act together. This is a company that still doesn't have full VST3 support for all of their plugins. They've been announcing VST3 support since like 2013.

When the Plus came out I was extremely close getting it, I even had it in my shopping cart ready to go at one point. I felt like now when they have two platforms with the same app the active development would surely speed up.

But as a previous user pointed out, Maschine _is_ pretty good and I don't lack anything in particular. It's just much more enjoyable to be a part of an active platform where the developers have visions and ideas.

Well, the latest Machine update everyone has been waiting for is out and....yawn. 4 features I'll never use. Guess I'll wait to see what feature they add 12 months from now.

9 years to put out a VST3 version has to be a new record.
