I’m specifically looking for things that are unique and innovative, like the Chase Bliss MOOD and the like. What can you think of?

Hologram Microcosm maybe... I can't really think of a software equivalent.
Though it is digital and therefore software in it's own right.

Bastl Thyme, another delay/looper/buffer manipulator. There’s nothing quite like it in software, although it shouldn’t be that hard to build something similar in Reaktor f.e.

Yeah, I’m thinking about that, though I’m not really sure I couldn’t do something with a looper and a granular plugin.

The granular algos are pretty unique, im not sure how you would replicate that. To me the
glitch processor is where it really shines. Anyway, great for synths, but you might need a stereo splitter/merger, like the one from OBNE, which is what I use. Tbh I don't really even look at it as a granular effect, though technically it is.

the fact it's software means it's obviously possible...
just needs someone to code it to the right format. if it was open source like the mutable stuff, there would just be a wait.

but practically, no, i don't think it can be matched with current fx. theres probably things you can do to get close, but it depends how close you want, to that sound.
it does stand alone in the granular options sonically imo, and even with my already ample hw granular options, if they weren't so expensive and unobtainable here, id have one!!!

There was once, but it was discontinued and is no longer supported.

Does it not have basic stereo i/o?

It has one TRS Stereo/Mono input and 2 TS (I believe) L/R mono outs. It's both convenient and inconvenient, depending on your gear. Some companies insist on doing it that way, Red Panda for instance uses TRS in and out I believe.

i bought loads of splitter cables years back, as i kept getting caught out with stereo out being trs instead of twin mono.
very handy to have around :tu:
basically a female trs, to twin mono male, so you just stick it on the end of a long trs near the interface.

They are sometimes referred to as Insert Cables, since mixer inserts usually have send and return on the same TRS connection. I like these: https://www.amazon.com/Hosa-YPP-117-Ste ... 000068O54/
With these, you don't need to have splitter cables of different lengths.

Those are cool, I have a bunch of them that I mostly use for inserts on my mixer actually. :tu:

Any bucket brigade delay is often emulated, but never duplicated by software.
