Somebody, not on this forum, wants to sell me his IQ-Series bundle for 500 EUR. The regular price is
1270 EUR.
There's not that much info about Hofa plugins out there and just a few YT videos. I like the look of the plugins, very sleek an no-nonsense.
But I wonder if they're worth it. Anybody have any experience using them?

This is what's included in the bundle: IQ-Series EQ, IQ-Series Analyser, IQ-Series Analyser (Standalone), IQ-Series DeEsser, IQ-Series Comp, IQ-Series Reverb & IQ-Series Limiter.

Or is something like the Fabfilter bundle the better option?

I have to admit, it's mainly GAS :) I'm perfectly fine with Cubase plugins. Just bored with them

Allthough I'm looking for a good Analyzer. I don't like the Voxengo one that comes with Cubase.

Just demo the Hofa stuff. I like it a lot. It's not as fancy as FF, though.

Yes they're wonderful, clean sounding, low cpu. EQ has proper dynamics inbuild; analyzer is one of the best imo with automatic plugin communication, reference curves, zoom; reverb v2 now can mix multiple IRs & algorithmics and has a super nice preset browser with good factory presets & irs (which is crucial for a convolution plugin i think).

I like the fabfilter Deesser and Limiter more, as well as the EQ as go-to. Buy HOFA IQ as dynamic eq is unbeatable for me.
It runs on my machine! Everything else is undefined behavior.

The “Voxengo one” in Cubase is not an Analyzer, but Curve EQ, an equalizer, that comes with an analyzer (derived from the free SPAN plugin).
Cubase Pro/Artist since version 11 (i think) comes with Supervision, which is a fully featured, highly customizable Analyzer tool with dozens of visualization types. Worth checking out, i think if you want to buy something like that from a third party vendor, you easily pay 100-200 bucks.

As for the bundle: you sure that you couldn’t get it for cheaper in say a black friday deal? The “regular price” means shit nowadays in the age of 90% off sales.

The bundle price at HOFA is 759,90 EUR (hofa-shop.com). When buying 2nd hand make sure the bundle includes current versions. Depending on when the seller purchased the bundle it might contain previous versions of the plugins.

I'm still on version 10.5. I'm waiting for the (hopefully) Steinberg summer sale and then upgrade to 12.

I’ve been demoing the Hofa plugin bundle with the EQ-Analyzer. I really like the plugins, I find them easy to use and very nice on the eyes. But I didn’t realize that you’d need to send the results of the analyzer to the Hofa EQ to actually change anything. I thought it’d be an all-in-one solution like Fabfilter Pro Q. I might get that instead. What I really like though is the Hofa compressor. I wait for a Hofa sale and then buy that and give the bundle a miss.
