I am out of my element. Been writing music off and on for decades and always wanted to figure out how people make awesome sounding stuff on their laptops using synths and daws and whatnot, but dangit. Guys. I'm old. (I'm sure many of you are too... so I'll specify, I'm old and helpless. Joke.)

I am really enjoying figuring stuff out, I am happy with what I produced for the OSC for the MG-1 _as a first effort_ but not as an actual completed work. I feel I would really benefit from working for a more or less extended period with a knowledgable individual who can listen to stuff I make and interact constructively with me about it. (To be a little more specific, while I will never be an EDM person, and probably not an ambient person, and those are the main things I seem to see represented here--nevertheless I eagerly and almost desperately want to learn how to make those kinds of sounds and songs in order to enhance my own toolbelt if nothing else.) That sounds like paid work though. Are there people offering such services?

I do see people giving advice about this on these forums at least sometimes but honestly, if I am unleashed here, it will be so many questions people will probably really feel like "man you just need to hire somebody" know what I mean?

(If I want to learn abovementioned sounds but don't think I'd actually end up feeling natural in those genres, what _do_ I imagine myself landing on? Lemon Demon is the guy I listen to in amazement, awe, respect, and seething jealousy and thoughts of 'that'd've been me if I'd done htings differently thirty years ago. Example: )

So there are some books about sound design. Also a few good youtubers to follow. Also the osc discord.

On YouTube just do a search for how to make a particular sound and you will get hits.

And there are courses online. Berklee I think is a popular one? I don't know much about that. Lots of youtubers have courses for a price. And Patreon.

I'm strongly considering making a course about exactly this for beginners to pro-ish
I'm compiling a list of topics that need to be included.
I'm open for suggestions in areas.

I'm literally talking about the most basic of basics to relatively advanced for someone who really has no clue to going quite far for those that can pick up a few extra tips n tricks.

I'm hoping to finally get some stuff done that I'm way behind on tonight but if you can mention a specific sound or two with timestamps to make life easy I can show you how I'd go about it.
