Lately though I've been thinking to explore some interesting stuff in the realm of hardware, and I'm looking for hardware audio processing effects, specifically im looking to build an effect-rack I can use in conjunction with ableton (feed audio through it), and I'd like to explore some out-there effects that have basically no software equivalent/are so unique that you can only really get them as effect modules.
Most appreciated would be effects that go beyond basics. Doesn't have to be analog, can be wildly digital and doesn't have to fit into a modular rack, can also be its own thing like elektron analog heat or something.
I heard of stuff like mutable instruments/noise engineering, but that stuff has been ported to VST/max for live.
Any ideas are welcome! Let me know your favorite creative tools & secret weapons.
