I've been trying to figure out a way to integrate a pedal fx (let's say Boss Overdrive) into my DAW (ableton), but i don't know the workaround to do so. Maybe I need another interface with some other kind of inputs or (?). This is a topic i don't really know about because I've had the same interface since I started making music, so any help is appreciated.

I don't have a 2i2 but I looked at the product page. You've got two line outputs in the back and two combo inputs in the front. The combo inputs take mic, instrument, and line level.
You will want two instrument cables (TS). One will go from a line output to the pedal input. The other goes from the pedal output to a combo input. It will be going out as line and coming back as instrument. There are possibly some impedance issues but cross that bridge if you come to it, and you're using a distortion pedal anyway.
This technique is generally called reamping (though it is not going through an amp), using a loop back (out from the interface and back in). The time it takes to loop back must be accounted for because it is not instant. This is called loop back latency.
It's likely the headphone jack has the exact some output signal as the two line outputs. In that case you'll have to sacrifice the ability to monitor what's going on, or since you're using only one channel, do some routing in your DAW/interface to use the remaining channel to monitor in mono.

Just don't send the DAWs 'normal' (master) output to the output of the Scarlett - except if you wanted to create a feedback loop. And check that the Scarlett's 'direct monitoring' is off (which routes the inputs directly to the outputs).
