Those who wanted to keep your music as hobby, what are your musical hobby goals?

Hey,
There was a time in my early 20s I wanted to pursue a career in music. However the mindset made me enjoy less about music. So I decided I want to keep my music as hobby to keep the fun with no pressure on creativity. I still however have hobby goals with my music. Such as release a few EPS and albums online etc.

I started late, turning 40, so obviously I'm not going for a career..
I do it mainly for two reasons, one is curousity, how does music work, how do you play an instrument, how do you record, mix etc. I just enjoy learning and understanding the details of it.
The other main reason is for relaxing, just nodling or playing a song as a meditation and relaxing activity.
My only goal would be to play with others, like a small band or so, just jam a bit.

I don't think hobbies necessarily need goals -- depends on your personality and the hobby, I guess. Computer games are my other hobby, and the only goals I have there are low-stakes, short-term, and not very meaningful.
Overall my goals are just "keep making music" and "don't get too caught up in GAS."
The specifics can vary. "Keep making music" usually takes the form of recording/releasing drone/ambient albums but it doesn't necessarily have to. A habit I picked up from the Lines forum was writing up goals for each new year (as opposed to "resolutions").
And of course in an individual session I might have a particular goal (work on fretless bass intonation with a tuner, explore a specific patching technique, see how much variation I can get out of Supermassive) or not (just make some noise).

I have no big ambitions, the process is often enough for me but there's also the 'creation' element. Completing something and stepping back and feeling some kind of satisfaction, especially if it's allowed you to express or exorcise something along the way.

Today I got a statement from a label for 3.63€, so I'm officially a professional.
After a closer inspection I think it's actually 0.03€ as they messed up the coma, but still counts.

Yep. Playing, creating, producing and maybe sharing any final works with some folk who may appreciate them. I get great joy from those things. Goal achieved.

To create music that I love listening to, without getting bored or sick of it; even after many years and a lot of listens; Attempt to make it easily available somewhere, somehow.
If there's somebody else listening or enjoying it, that's a major plus, but I've learned that's it's better to lower one's expectations.
Secondary: Be as diverse as possible, don't overly-repeat yourself.
It tends to be more work than fun... But there's still fun.

Hmm? I came into music through American hardcore punk and new wave / post punk. Almost none of the bands I listened to and admired were on major labels, or had the kind of following to play stadiums or even large venues. Only one band I was in had allusions to making it big, and after that I was more interested in playing obscure music that probably wouldn't pay the bills.
All that to say I've always hated the binary that gets presented by DAW users on forums, hobbyist or pro. It completely lacks any consideration for the musician and music played. Not everyone who doesn't play mainstream music, who knows that it's not a reasonable income source accordingly, treats it as a hobby. I don't knock people who do, but I and I'm certain others here do not consider it a "hobby".
As far as goals, it's always been the same, to release music that inspires and gives a reason to be alive to those who feel hopeless and alone. My music and bands I've participated in have always been for misfits and outcasts. I don't care about pleasing those who are already pleased with pleasurable notes professionally arranged in a way that fits into their chosen narrative, I care about giving solace to the broken, a voice for their rage etc.

Really tho.
There is no 'goal' to it.
I guess different people have different personalities - I've never been very competitive or 'goal-oriented'. One day you die and lose everything.
