Choice of waiting time too long for audio interface Rme

I have a question.

As I'm not ready to have my Rme and I won't be able to wait for months, I wonder what alternative to choose.

At the moment I have an Audiofuse 2.

Option 1

Soundcraft signature 12 mtk and Audiofuse 2 style mixer.

Option 2

Apparently Uad and Pc, not great at all stall among others.

However, I was motivated to take the duo via USB and add an adat module to it to have several inputs.

Option 3

Focusrite 18i20 3rd generation and same as 8-input adat module.

What do you think of these solutions?

If you have any other suggestions, please do not hesitate.

Why do you want to replace your Audiofuse 2? What are your requirements? OS? Etc... Why do you think that mind readers are frequenting this forum?

Very simple two entries and not enough.

I had bought the Audiofuse 2, while waiting for the Rme and because my old audio interface had no midi.

Here I equip myself with hardware, so I need more entries.

I'm on Windows 10.

For the moment I have four machines and I plan to take another two.

How are you going to combine those? (that Soundcraft is also an audio interface)

why don’t you add the adat-module to the audiofuse 2? that way you have 14 inputs (2 more then the apollo duo).

I thought I would take a Scarlett 18i20 3rd generation and an ada 8200 from Behringer while waiting for the Rme.

What do you think ?

I wonder also Scarlett or Carlett?

Which has the best converters?

Unfortunately I will not have the quality of RME, but still months before I can perhaps have one.

I can't wait that long because it prevents me from moving forward.

Before I got my RME FF UC, the only other brands I was considering were Steinberg and Roland. I wanted reliable drivers and read too many negative experiences about Focusrite (Windows drivers).

Ah good, I did not know that the drivers so bad with Windows.

I've had the 2i2 2nd gen for a while and had no issues.

Regarding the Rme, the UCX 2 or the UFX 2.

The problem with the approximations is that it's theoretical, so don't want to block 1300 or 2000 euros while waiting without certainty for a real delivery in June.

Focusrite HAD unreliable drivers. Still not RME level, but they leveled them up about 3 or so years ago. I used to get regular computer crashes from them. Now? Not a single one. Still more latent than RME but that gap closed a little, as well.

(RME drivers have the lowest latency for USB, but some Thunderbolt interfaces from other manufacturers are a few ms faster yet)

Clarett+ converters are excellent, too.

The main reason for RME: a few ms lower latency, reputation for most solid drivers, to date they also have really long support for their products - many years after they stop shipping, and they’re high quality.

Other companies have some of these qualities, and may even be better (eg latency), but few of any have all of them at the same level.

That said, I’m perfectly happy with my Clarett4pre USB and the price I got it for new.

Indeed the Carlett + offers a very good result.

It will be my choice while waiting for the RME.

Best quality / price / performance ratio.
