I'm trying to get this to sound better on phone speakers, my knowledge of music production is very limited, I'm using Wavepad because it's the most user friendly. I'm just trying to restore the audio of this specific recording that I've already basically finished. The original app I was using to edit the song had great quality no matter what I was using (phone, headphones, speakers) then after export it lost quality with phone speakers only. I'm thinking the app just had a different EQ setting so it sounded good until I exported to WAV. I've tried various different things trying to get that original sound it had while editing through phone speakers. I'm using Wavepad so assuming it has all the basic functions how would you restore the quality without altering the way it sounds through speakers and headphones? I've gotten it to sound good through phone speakers but then the audio is ruined with headphones. If you have any suggestions or a step by step solution I'd really appreciate it

I'd be willing to send over the current file I'm working on to anyone who might be able to help, as the song fades in it gets really distorted and the overall quality is nothing like it was originally on the song maker app. It's frustrating when no one is able to hear the way it's supposed to sound

Where to start...
What I'm hearing is two acoustic guitars. They are not recorded the best way. The mic seems placed rather distant, room acoustics seem to be not that great either. Then it sounds watery, like recorded with an old warbly cassette tape deck. This is probably due to mp3/aac compression, either from youtube or somewhere earlier in the recording & mastering process. It's normal I guess for mobile phone apps to record everything lossy to mp3/aac. I'm not hearing any other obvious distortion. Not much you can do I'm afraid.
You say it sounded fine while editing in "another app", before you rendered it down to wav. Which app was that?
To check the rendering you can hook up the headphone out of the phone to a laptop with line input jack (hard to find these days) and record it directly there.
I truely question whether you can get really good recordings with just a phone internal mic and nothing more. We have found better ways, but it needs a bit of an investment.

We are the KVR collective. Resistance is futile. You will be assimilated.
