You mean dungeon synth on the metal side or the dubstep one?

Most of the examples I've listened to didn't grab me. I do like Dream Division's Legend of Lizard Lake, but I'm not sure if that counts?
(Which reminds me to check out some of the other stuff on the Library of the Occult label before the Bandcamp Juneteenth thingy tomorrow.)
Aha, one of those describes it as "electronic folk horror" instead and that fits better with some of the other stuff I like (Burning Tapes, Everyday Dust, The Night Monitor, Repeated Viewing, some of Rupert Lally's stuff). Honestly this branch of things is probably inspired by the Stranger Things soundtrack.

I wasn't aware there was a dubstep side, so the former, I guess. I'm not a huge black metal fan really.humanboeing wrote: Thu Jun 16, 2022 5:01 pm You mean dungeon synth on the metal side or the dubstep one?

Dungeon dubstep is sometimes reffered to as dungeon synth, I used to listen to that but today it's pretty much a dead genre. Quick yt search on dungeon synth and I can tell it's not my cup of tea, too fantasy-ish, the closest thing I listen to is probably dark ambient.ghostwhistler wrote: Thu Jun 16, 2022 8:06 pmI wasn't aware there was a dubstep side, so the former, I guess. I like it but I listen to it more like a random playlist. I don’t know or follow any artists in this genre.

Rupert is great. I have Maniac's Almanac. Library of the occult is also good.foosnark wrote: Thu Jun 16, 2022 5:06 pm Most of the examples I've listened to didn't grab me. I do like Dream Division's Legend of Lizard Lake, but I'm not sure if that counts?

DS is endearing. It's a grassroots, lo key/lo fi, labour of love for a wide arrange of artists. Some of it isn't to my liking. Some of it is produced by very dodgy people. But some of it is utterly unique and quite enchanting.
Thorsten Quaesching from TDream even did a set at a festival during lockdown, iirc. I hope he releases his set. I would love to hear it
