Newbie Q: play melody from Melody Editor with Composition?

Hi! Brand new user here!
I might be missing something totally elementary here: is there an integration that allows me to play the melody in the Melody Editor on top of the composition in the Composition tab, and/or a way to put the chord-progression in the Composition tab into the Melody Editor? Or are they not that closely integrated (yet)?

On Windows, hold down the control key and click play.. On Mac, I would guess it's the options key??.. (I get those two mixed up - command or options)

The melody editor doesn't use the chords, just the scale, so, no need for the chords..

I gotta say, it feels like this feature is ....... not that easy to discover Even knowing where it is now, I was unable to find anywhere in the manual discussing it, and only by fussing to get the Melody Editor tooltip to show up can I find any text explaining it. In particular, it's not documented (or enable-able) in the right-click options, and it is not documented in the manual where the Play button for the Melody Editor is discussed.

It seems like a really fundamental and powerful feature, and I hope at a future update of RapidComposer might make this excellent feature more easily discoverable and/or better documented for someone just wandering around the UI!

The tooltips are your best friend, they have more details than the manual:



Please note that the 'Melody Editor' and all its settings can be encapsulated into a Motive Generator phrase which can be inserted into your composition. Double-clicking on a Motive Generator will open the Melody Editor.
