HI

I am trying to source a pair of speaker stands for my KRK speakers which have a width of 12" and a depth of 10", I need something around 800mm high - been doing searches but blimey other than some custom made stands at almost £300 I am not having much luck  .

Any links or ideas for something less extreme (price wise!) and also is it common to mount speakers of this size and potential BASS OUTPUT on such small bases that you see these tiddly little hi-fi monitors on?

Flipper.

Try having a look at www.thomann.de; they might have some budget stands that'd be the right size. Deliver to UK no problem.

Um...I used a pair of $25 stands I found at Ikea which work great for me and look pretty cool too. Of course I had rig them up to hold my M-Audio BX5's and they aren't the sturdiest if you live somewhere prone to earthquakes, but for my simple needs they were a steal.

here's a quick tip, next time you're out look for some of those real cheap mouse pads, buy two and cut them to size...they word great for stopping vibration issues....similar pads for speakers are 25 bux a pair.. :)

Try Atacama. Good stands. Used to be quite reasonably priced. No idea if that's still true.

"Ixox" Good idea but that TFT you have in the middle - I have two of em and need to mount my speakers either side of the desk.

I will check the links though, thanks.

If you're going to sand fill them (and it is worth it) get a turkey roasting tray for a couple of quid from tescos. Bake the sand for 45 mins and let it cool. Damp sand and mild steel is a bad idea, and dry sand damps better.
