Hey,

Looking around for live performance toy to buy, considering Live of course, but never really looked at this until now.

Haven't tried, but judging by the feature list and stuff on the site, it looks like a VERY powerful sampling groovebox.

So the question is, do you good people think this is capable of delivering good results on its own, and perhaps with some VST effects? I have EnergyXT if that helps.

If this is as good as it looks it could be a whole lot of live fun for not very much money!

Any advice appreciated

I own the full SonicBytes product line. EST is a very capable multi-timbral sampler, & Holger designed it to perform as a live-use instrument.

I don't use it for live purposes myself, but there are other EST users that have been, so check in the SONICBYTES forum, where this thread will probably get moved to anyways..

Anyone else? I can't believe no-one has had this idea before me! Someone musthave used this as a live performance tool, feature list says it has internal sync so must be capable of working alone in a host like EnergyXT.

Although i tlooks like a i can get educational discount on Live 4, only £150, so thats bloody tempting!

I cant compare with live cause i never used it a second time but i can tell you that EST is excellent live and i use it in EXT Tracktion and FL.Dont forget that you can also load single cycle waveforms into EST and use a channel as a synth or multiple channels.We have some new stuff comin out for EST soon and 7fan always has EST stuff for sale so dl the demo and i think you will like
