Hi all,
Please see the photos here.

I have a Presonus 1824c interface that I use normally to record my guitars and vocals. I got my hands on a pre-amp today, it will be free for me and I saw its second version (USB Pre2) going for $1200 on Thomann.
I wonder how useful it is and can use this pre-amp to power my mic instead of 1824, how good is it, anyone used it before?
I've got my hands on a (old?) pre-amp, how useful it is?

I was searching the net for specifications (just compare them against your current interface, there's probably your answer) but then I came across a recent review. Better read all of that: http://www.audiomeasurements.com/?p=4354
Tech specs are here btw: https://cdn.sounddevices.com/wp-content ... pre_en.pdf
What you need to know is at page 5, not at the end it usually is. It's old tech, not bad for the time. Your current one is probably just as good or even better. I'd say try it and if you like it then you're a winner. And if not, no loss.
