hi all,
what is a good algorithm (format) for compression of audio material. It should be lossless. I read about it some time ago. Now I nneed it but can´t remember any names/ test results. i need it for exchange of projects (wave) over the internet.

RAR is also a good option... it compresses audio much better than ZIP, but is just as easy to use... it's not a codec, just a compression utility you'd run to crunch down your raw wav files.
RAR is available for many platforms, and while it's not open-source, it doesn't look to be going away any time soon... so long-term, you're probably in good shape storing material in RAR archives.
