You often get the advice, that your DAW stock plugins are good enough for mixing/mastering. So I’m curious, does anybody know of a successful song, mostly or even completely mixed with stock Cubase plugins?

I recall reading that Justice used pretty much stock cubase for their first album.
They of course did a bunch of crate digging for samples, but apparently used a lot of the in built things.
Cubase definitely has some of the best quality built in tools in terms of sound quality.

Most DAWs' Stock Plugins veer on the side of transparency, so when you start needing analog-modeled plugins or more esoteric stuff the third party stuff becomes more of a necessity.
For basic Mix/Master FX, it's mostly about user experience and workflow, though there may be specific features that draw you to third party as well.

"Notifications for Nothing" are annoying. Blocking me in return is a good way to avoid this.
