Arturia releases Dist COLDFIRE, a dual-engine distortion effect that gives users a reactive arsenal of classic & cutting-edge ways to process and destroy their sound. Going beyond conventional on/off & dry/wet distortion effects, this creative plugin allows users to manipulate and combine various distortion types for truly unique and powerful sound design.

The dual distortion reactor

Dist COLDFIRE is an all-in-one distortion effect delivering subtle mix-enhancing saturation, dual-engine custom crunch, or unrestrained sonic destruction, combining analog and digital algorithms with deep modulation and customization to unearth near-infinite distortion possibilities for any sound.

Totally custom distortion

Pair up any of the 11 distortion types, from emulated tube heat to icy digital bit crush, customize routing, sprinkle in some modulation, and forge entirely unique sonic carnage.

Creative destruction

Create resonant metallic melodies, introduce artificial harmonic reflections, trigger wildly destructive feedback loops; get creative with Dist COLDFIRE’s dual-engine architecture.

Modulate, animate

Swap static sound processing for distortion that evolves, flickers, and dances to any tune with 6 assignable modulation slots, step sequencing, envelope following, and more.

Intuitive but powerful

Dist COLDFIRE is simple enough to create exciting dual distortion effects in just a few easy clicks, but flexible enough to become totally immersed in deeply destructive sound design.

Dist COLDFIRE: Intro offer

To celebrate the launch, registered users can purchase Dist COLDFIRE at a one-off introductory price, with discounts up to 50% off. All users will also have access to discounts on a bundle comprising FX Collection 3 + Dist COLDFIRE. Users can login at arturia.com to unlock their exclusive discounts, available until Thursday, September 15th.

Note: haven't actually tried it yet, but as an FX Collection 3 owner, the price is only $29 for me. Not bad. Will still demo though. Need to stop buying plugins I won't use, but this looks like one I might.

yeah great price, cant resist :) Bought. GUI looks good. Gonna install later

Wow, what a sound!
Goes straight into my "Favorites" plug-ins folder.

Yup- that's one of the best all round creative distortions I have used, may have just replaced Thermal as my go to...for $29 a must have for me...it can do very good compression/saturation as well as the extreme stuff...a virtual electron analogue heat and more!

I also like the way Arturia just launch stuff when its ready with a great upgrade price and none of that teaser nonsense, I'll keep buying from them for that reason alone!
X32 and 24C mixers, S88MK3, Live + PUSH 3, Osmose, RedShift 6, Pro3, S4, Tempera, Syntakt, Digitone, OP1-F, OPXY, TR-1000, Eurorack, TD27 Drums, Guitars, Basses, Amps and of course lots of pedals!

Can be very CPU intensive. That's definitely one reason to keep other distortions handy!

Another one of those great "own inventions" from Arturia - would pay for a bundle with Delay Eternity and Reverb Intensity (as i already got EFX Fragments & Tape Mello-Fi). No need for emulations, but those three...

Just waiting for the Arturia 'FX Rack' now (the FX version of Laboratory), be great to have all of these amazing FX in a rack as multi FX.

Me too. I'm hoping they go one step further & modularise everything so I can mix & match any part of any synth or effect. That would be something to behold

They did the same thing when they released the SQ80 after I had already bought V Collection 8. I ended up buying SQ80 separately and when I upgraded to V9 owning SQ80 gave me a better discount on V9 than if I didn't own the SQ80. So they do take that into account when giving a discount on the next collection release.
